Our pledge

Sharing a living and working space helps us to have a smaller footprint. But we believe that is not enough.

The planet and our communities deserve more commitment and action towards ending climate change .

Sunshine Embassy is working to create a balance between our community needs and the way we impact our planet. We are committed to a responsible, sustainable consumption.

1. one Home for many

Increasing the housing density by taking less land area compared to other housing is an efficient utilisation of space.

2. green mobility

Encouraging the use of public transportation, carpooling and bike rental among our members by providing easy access to it.

3. waste reduction

Inviting our members to refuse what they don’t need, reduce what they’re getting, reuse it and recycle or compost it.

4. sustainable food

Shopping in bulk from local farmers or fair trade distributors that provide us with high quality, responsible products.

5. give back

We are working in developing several volunteering projects in collaboration with local organisations to give back to the island. Starting by recovering the 30 hectares of forest where our home is located, by cleaning and transforming biomass into soil fertiliser and energy. As well as monthly volunteering activities such as cleaning the beach and the ocean.

What Next?

We are constantly working toward implementing new innovative solutions that can bring our community closer to a fully sustainable model. By 2021 we hope to add here nº5. Energy Efficiency, nº6. FoodPrint Giveback Programme and nº7. Renewable Energy Generation.
